Recruitment for first-cycle studies and single-cycle master’s studies in the light of formal and legal changes
Following the enactment Act of 4 April 2025 amending certain acts to eliminate irregularities in the visa system of the Republic of Poland the rules for admitting international students to higher education programmes have changed. All of the information below applies to the current admissions process for the upcoming 2025/2026 academic year – please read it carefully and prepare the required documents accordingly.
The changes introduced by the Act concerning admissions to long-cycle Master’s programmes, as well as first- and second-cycle studies, came into force on 1 July 2025. Applicants enrolling after this date are required to submit additional documents, as outlined below.

You should create an account in the online recruitment system and register for your chosen programme of study.

The required recruitment documents:
- Secondary school leaving certificate with a transcript of grades (the certificate should bear an Apostille stamp)
- Sworn translation of the secondary school leaving certificate into Polish
- Two signed colour photographs for a student ID, size 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm (as required for ID cards)
- Statement from parents/legal guardians authorizing the minor to participate in the recruitment process and to become a university student, in the case of a minor prospective student.
- ID card.
You should pay the application fee and the fee for the first semester of studies.

Note! The agreement with Belarus expired on November 3, 2023, and therefore documents certifying secondary education issued in Belarus are subject to mandatory recognition.
The list of countries for which notification of the certificate from the Director General of Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) is not required – AUTOMATICALLY RECOGNIZED CERTIFICATES

Polish language proficiency is verified on the basis of a document confirming knowledge of Polish at B2 level or higher. The types of documents accepted as proof of proficiency in Polish are specified in the – Rozporządzenie Ministra Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego z dnia 30 lipca 2025 r. w sprawie rodzajów dokumentów poświadczających znajomość języka, w którym odbywa się kształcenie na studiach

Foreigners not holding documents in accordance with Article 326a, paragraph 1. (Article 70, paragraph 5b)
List of certificates from third countries – THIRD COUNTRY CERTIFICATES
Pursuant to art. 70 sec. 5b of the Act amending certain acts in order to eliminate irregularities in the visa system of the Republic of Poland, in relation to foreigners applying for admission to first-cycle studies or single-cycle master’s studies on the basis of a document issued abroad, which is not a document confirming the eligibility to apply for admission to studies referred to in art. 326a sec. 1, the university must observe the following prerequisites during the recruitment process:
- Submission of a document (secondary school leaving certificate) issued abroad by a school or educational institution recognized by the country in whose territory or education system it operates, along with written information about this document issued by the Director General of Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) confirming eligibility to apply for admission to studies;
- Proof of language proficiency: The university verifies knowledge of the language of studies (in a specific field, level, and programme profile), at a language proficiency level determined by the university, no lower than B2. This verification is based on a document certifying language proficiency (Polish or foreign language, depending on the language of instruction) presented by the foreigner during the recruitment process. The types of these documents will be specified in a regulation issued by the Minister of Science and Higher Education after July 18, 2025.
- Entrance examinations:
- for foreigners who do not possess documents compliant with Article 326a, paragraph 1. the University organizes entrance examinations to assess knowledge necessary to undertake studies in a specific field, level, and programme profile, or artistic talents, physical fitness, or specific predispositions to undertake studies in a specific field, level, and programme profile.
- The results of the entrance examination may constitute up to 100% of the total score a candidate can achieve during the recruitment process.

Entrance Exam:
For foreigners who do not have documents compliant with Article 326a, Section 1, the University conducts entrance exams
- to assess knowledge necessary to undertake studies in a specific field, level, and programme profile,
- or artistic talents
- physical fitness,
- or specific predispositions to undertake studies in a specific field, level, and programme profile.
The results of the entrance exam may constitute up to 100% of the total score a candidate can achieve during the recruitment process.
